winner winner chicken dinner

Oh my goodness... I can't contain my excitement... I just won an official Gussy bag! Yeow!

I know I've been a little crappy with the blogging lately... home and work have been busy and stressful and it looks like things will be staying that way for a bit... this alternative certification process is going to end up taking a bit of concentration and preparation... hey... maybe I can keep myself better organized and control the paperwork that it is taking me to get this done in my new Gussy bag?!?!

Anywho, thank you to Gussy and the folks at Love Feast Table for having the fabulous giveaway. I'm super excited!

Unwrapping another Tuesday and a Winner!

Homemade pizza dough: $3.00
Food, drinks & parking at art's festival: $25.00
Homemade granola: $2.00
Raising my daughters: priceless.
There are some things money can't buy. For everything else, there's cash. =)
I'm thrilled and at the same time trepidacious over the idea that my 16 month old wants nothing more than to cook with mommy. Her sister definitely did not take this much interest so soon. Meanwhile, attending the art's festival was both a necessity (our roof was being put on at the time, can't imagine staying home and listening to that racket) and quite a treat. I really appreciate Emily from Chattin at the Sky for reminding us to slow down and enjoy life's little moments. Even document them. And sometimes documenting those moments means grabbing your cell phone. C'est la vie.

Congrats to Booderbean's momma for winning the 2 throw pillows! Her number was drawn by my writing the 5 entrants numbers down on strips of paper, wadding them up, and picking one. Very official. I'll get to work on the pillows ASAP!

100 & unwrapped

Pop quiz:

Today I'm:

a)hosting a giveaway

b)participating in chatting at the sky's Tuesdays unwrapped (which technically was Monday evening unwrapped)

c)celebrating my 100th post

d)all of the above

===========================================

take your time to think about this one.

===========================================

a)the giveaway: my friend ck suggested i do a giveaway that involved me doing a sewing project and I decided to take her advice. I will make 2 throw pillows for the lucky winner in the color scheme of your choice. all of this is 'within reason'. I'm not going to go out and buy $500/yd fabric, but I WILL make you 2 very pretty pillows. Promise.

Here's the details: if you want to enter to win 2 free throw pillows made by yours truly, leave me a comment with 1)something you've enjoyed reading on my blog AND 2)a description of the colors you'd like in your 2 throw pillows. You need to leave me some way to get in contact with you, so if you have a blog, leave me a link, if you don't make sure I have your email address.

Finally: one entry per person PLEASE! comments taken through Friday April 24th noon CST.

b)Emily from Chatting at the sky is hosting Tuesdays unwrapped... just a little glimpse into every day life. Last night, husband had a soccer game late in the evening and I was a little frantic about having the girls at home by myself for the third night in a row. So, we decided to make things easy by having sandwiches, bananas and cheese crackers for dinner and just playing in our backyard. Our backyard is not fancy and will never be featured in a magazine (unless its the 'don't' type of illustration), but it has come a long way since we first bought this house 3 years ago. We haven't oured a ton of money into it, but every summer it gets a little better and it is now finally safe enough and has the appropriate toys for my girls to have some fun playing... here's a picture:

=====================================

c) and finally, yes I am celebrating my 100th post. I know I don't have a big following like some of my favorite bloggers- June from byebyepie, PW of Pioneerwoman, Nester from the nesting place... but I really didn't start this blog as some sort of popularity contest. Its really just a glimpse into my life that I hope I'll be able to keep up so that my girls can see what my life is all about. So, here's to the next 100 posts!!!

giveaway

ok, i'm not the one having a giveaway, so don't get too riled up, but go check out the cool giveaway at this blog... but don't enter to win the giveaway, because you'll decrease MY chances of winning =P YOU can go by your own darn journal (see how unChristian and not at all charitable I'm being? don't you think I need to win the journal?)

Speaking of Aprons...

This is what my shirt looks like today (shirt is brown, wild print is my skirt).. I'm at work, wearing a shirt that looks like THIS!

'Why?' you ask... because husband had a cross country meet this morning at 9, but had to be out of the house by 7:30, meanwhile I have a marriage preparation program here at work and had to be out of the house at 7:15. The girls allowed us to sleep in until 5:55!!! That left me about an hour to: nurse youngest daughter, take a shower, fix my hair, do my makeup, get dressed, make scrambled eggs for oldest daughter, pour her juice, dress youngest daughter, get everyone to sit down and eat, load up the box of clothes that I'm taking to the big consignment sale this afternoon, and about a dozen other things I can't think of. This mommy thing is exhausting, I tell you. It has PLENTY of rewards, but one of the rewards is not that I hardly even noticed that I got scrambled (uncooked) egg all over my shirt and didn't have anything else ready to change into. So, I'm entering this contest in the hopes of winning a super-pretty apron to keep this from happening in the future. Please DON'T (wink wink) go enter, because you might win instead of me =)

Free Stuff!

OK, I know you all love free stuff just as much as I do, but seriously, do NOT go over here and try to win this prize... because oldest daughter could really use something this fabulous to get rid of her extra energy, and if more of you enter, then my odds of winning decrease. ; )

Ode to Laundry Tree... GIVEAWAY! CONTEST IS OVER. Go To Comments to see winners!

Ode to Laundry Tree

Oh How I hate doing Laundry
It truly does make me ill
the towels, the shirts, the the panties
thinking of them brings a chill.

It haunts me and piles up forever
this burden I bear alone
the laundry is finished, oh never
I wish it would all leave my home.

And I have discovered a helper
Something that make this chore
My soap nuts make it much better
I do not find laundry such a bore.

And oh let me brag for a minute
about their care towards each customer.
A computer glitch caused a slight divot
and my cost of shipping did soar.

But within minutes they emailed me back
when I had problems using a discount code
Not hours or days did it take
And my shipment was soon to arrive at my abode.

A box in the mail I received
last night it was ready so fast
And oh the joy when I peeked
Some extras inside they had packed.

So now dear reader if you're still reading
a SURPRISE I have in store for you
the extra samples they sent me
I'm passing along for a lucky two.

Leave a comment at the end of this post
tell me why its laundry you hate
or if you happen to love it
tell me why you'd take it out on a date.

On Friday, June 6th I'll randomly pick
And two lucky readers will win
one 8 oz sample will do at least six
loads of laundry and then you can grin

If you're completely lost at this point
as to what a soapnut could be
then head on over to this online joint
it simply is called Laundry Tree!
