It went away and the next week I had pain so bad I thought I was having a heart attack and went to the ER. I had an ultrasound that revealed multiple gall stones and had it removed a month later after more attacks. The surgeon told me the report showed long term inflammation and this was after 2-3 years of prilosec, pepcid, tums, etc. So please, go get it checked. I haven't had one ounce of trouble since it was removed.Halala Mamahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04481433039675442918noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3538506389281065617.post-29720151900158033942009-06-07T13:52:30.260-07:002009-06-07T13:52:30.260-07:00Gastric reflux is a serious condition that can cau...Gastric reflux is a serious condition that can cause a myriad of other problems. Causes are not always known but often a hiatal hernia is the culprit (an outpouching of the stomach through the diaphragm). The "door" between the stomach and esophagus, the cardiac sphincter, can be weakened, and certain foods can cause this "door" to open, such as chocolate or spicy foods. Mainly, you need a good exam by a gastroenterologist, and stick with the regimen given. Doctors tend to give up on you when you try your own spin on things. Cut back on coffee or other caffiene products, chocolates, and real spicy stuff, try not to eat in the evening before bed, and get a referral from your doc for a GI guy. Sometimes this takes a few different med tries until the right one starts to work. Finally, Mylanta, and lots of it, seems to work best in a pinch. Good luck!David Marciniakhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12957642926757477899noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3538506389281065617.post-29660796093145692752009-06-04T10:41:04.729-07:002009-06-04T10:41:04.729-07:00I think you need a second opinion.
